Welcome to Computer Graphic Design at The University of Waikato.

What is CGD at Waikato?

Computer Graphic Design is a creative process that combines art and technology to communicate ideas. It begins with a message that, in the hands of a talented designer, is transformed into communication that transcends mere words.

The University of Waikato Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design (BCGD) degree is a specialist three-year design degree which will enable you to combine skills in visual art, creativity and lateral thinking with an ability to problem solve and a focus on new technology.

This professional degree is unique in New Zealand and in line with new international developments in design education. The BCGD is offered in partnership with the Whanganui School of Design (a school of UCOL - Universal College of Learning).
